Ashley Ricciardelli, B.Sc.
I joined the Wythe lab spring 2022 after starting my first year as an MD candidate at Baylor College of Medicine. I graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2021 as a University Scholar with concentrations in biology and neuroscience. Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked with the Scott lab to study harmful algal blooms, focusing on cyanobacteria toxin production. I presented at the 2019 Harmful Algal Bloom conference and received a Baylor undergraduate research and scholarly achievement award for my work.
I am interested in neurology and neurosurgery and am hoping to learn as much as I can about neurological diseases and the mechanisms behind them. I am particularly interested in sporadic and congenital bAVMs and pathways involved in their formation. It is my hope that research with the Wythe lab can help me continue to pursue my interest in research as well as help me to become a well-rounded doctor.
